Finally its here. The second album from swedish punk group Death by Horse. And i can start of by saying its on of my favorite bands on the swedish scene. I saw them last year at a small venue and Jahna the singer was every where. Its definitive a band to enjoy live. I liked it so much that i have booked them myself for Drenched in ÄLG 2019 as main act. What can we say about the new album Reality hits hard then. Lets start with 12 songs. Including the three prevously realesed singles. The first singel "Summer up" is the perfect song to enjoy the summer and all the summer beers to. Its also the song thats most likely to be played by mainstream radio i think. Its catchy pop punkies.
The record is more diverse then their debut album. You got pop, punkrock, ska, rock anthem type stuff and more. All laced with there own signature high energy attitude. As a whole it works great and you get a nice variation on the sound, not like some bands where every song sounds the same (ac/dc anyone). If you brake it apart song for song its also great. A song for every mood almost.
The lyrics are good and often with a catchy corus for everyone to sing along to. I have said it before and i will say it again. Jahna is one of the most energetic and best singers in the swedish punk/rock scene today. The musicians are great but her signature voice and stagepersona is really whats sets them apart from the other bands
After listening to it a few times now i cant fucking wait to welcome them into my home and Drenched in ÄLG.

White christmas.
Its starts with a little somber piano then the bass and drums kicks it of in a grand way. Jahna has a delicate sadness to her voice that works perfect with the music and lyrics. Its more a rock song then the energetic punkier (is that even a word) sound we are used from the previus record. It quickly became one of my favorite songs on the album.

The flood
Imagening your at a festival. Your drunk standing there in the ocean of people rocking your ass of and as the sun sets on a perfect summerfestival evening the band onstage anounce they have on last song. A perfect song for holding your arms around your loved on and just to enjoy the music and life itself. This is that song. Its borderline epic. Its the perfect song to end a show. Before the encore ;)

Little boy
On the first album we could her the extremely sad and powerful song about a little girl. This time its a little boy. Even to the serius lyrical content its a happy tune with the ska/ punk sound. For a guy that never dances i have a hard time standing still when i hear it. Its makes me wanna move and drink beer. And thats a big thing for a song to make me wanna
Vi ville göra en låt om en gammal barndomsvän. Han hade en tuff uppväxt och började använda substanser i tidig ålder och han dog tillslut 27 år gammal. De sista åren i hans liv träffades vi väldigt sällan men vi fick höra att han hade dött precis efter att vi släppt vårt första album och innan vår första spelning. -Jahna
Straight edge
If "The flood" is the perfect song to end a show, "Straight edge" is the song for the encore. To make us jump our asses of one last time before the shows over. As the title says its a song about being straight edge. One thing i could never do personaly. It got a catchy corus and more agressive, energetic sound then the other songs ive mentioned
Den handlar o tanken och önskan om att vara Straight Edge, speciellt när man har haft lite väl mycket party ett tag och mår/känner sig riktigt dålig. Många har nog tänkt tanken att "Jag ska aldrig dricka igen…" ☺ vilket man håller fram till nästa fest. -Jahna
